ITERATIONS presents 15 projects from the Digital Media Masters Program at the University of the Arts Bremen, developed during the winter semester 2022/23. The exhibition presents a diverse range of artistic and design practices, from speculative and poetic machines, animation films, video essays, kinetic installations to books, sound works and performances. Each project sets its own focus, using and exploring different forms of media and technology.

The works on display are concerned with artistic explorations of the limitations and biases of generative AI, visualizations and sonifications of propaganda narratives, a critical and poetic exploration of water bodies, a performative dialog with an AI, a book that explores the idiosyncratic websites of German art and design schools and a kinetic installation that stages an entangled dialog between floating strings. Furthermore, the exhibition includes an audiovisual study of structure and matter, an experimental device creating a biofeedback, a kinetic and emergent light installation, a sonic exploration of the struggles of Hungarian queer activists, a speculative and poetic inquiry into rice as a medium of deviation and a video essay focusing on sexuality and media.
