Bachelor of Music: Composition
Duration: 8 semesters
Qualification: Bachelor of Music
This study programme is designed to nurture the creative personality of each individual student and to enable students to develop their musical imagination to a highly artistic level, while also fostering an awareness of the social and aesthetic responsibilities of music composers.
Built around three central pillars – the analysis of music from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, the development of composition techniques and methods which are both professional and sustainable, and the critical interrogation of contemporary performance practice – this programme enables students to lay the foundations for their future professional practice and empowers them to make a valuable contribution to contemporary music.
