The commencement of the 2013/14 winter semester will also see the launch of a Master's programme for Integrated Design at Bremen University of the Arts. This programme will be open to undergraduate degree holders (Bachelor's or Diploma) from Germany and abroad, who wish to grow their creative personalities and to extend their knowledge and abilities in the field of design. The Master's programme is four semesters in duration. Prospective students are invited to apply for a placement immediately.

The University of the Arts' pioneering "Integrated Design" programme remains practically one of a kind in Germany. Based on a unique approach to design studies, the programme addresses the fundamental changes in the demands faced by modern designers. Emphasizing project work and interdisciplinary collaboration, the programme encourages teamwork and approaches design as a holistic process of complex, strategic and creative problem-solving, while breaking down barriers between the discipline's various schools and subcategories.

The Integrated Design course at the University of the Arts aims to train responsible designers equipped with wide-ranging expertise and the ability to accomplish the challenges of today and tomorrow.

To achieve this end, the Integrated Design Master’s programme will be built around parallel operating design studios, enabling students to tailor their studies to their preferences. Each studio will be supervised by at least two professors. This studio-based approach to design studies encourages close cooperation between students and teaching staff. The studios provide a positive learning environment for interdisciplinary teams with a strong thematic focus as students work across various media on open-ended and demanding creative projects.
