Winner of the H.A. Bockmeyer
Travel Grant has been announced

This year's winner of the H.A. Bockmeyer Travel Grant has been announced: Integrated Design student Ren Evora was selected with her project "Rivers of Dakar" from a total of 37 applications from all HfK courses.

The jury's statement: "By transferring and projecting back fictional images and structures onto Bremen and the immediate region, the project 'Rivers of Dakar' not only allows the boundaries between fiction and reality to become fluid. It also also, within the framework of this process, exposes the very construction and conscious attribution of binary concepts such as the own and the foreign, of proximity and distance, of center and periphery. In the openness, but also the uncertain result, interesting effects and impacts are revealed and also a foundation to think perception differently."

The jury consisted of Uwe Kludasch and Uwe Ritzkowski (both board members of the H. A. Bockmeyer Foundation), Ingmar Lähnemann (curator of the Städtische Galerie), Katrin von Maltzahn (professor of drawing/painting) and Andrea Sick (vice dean for research and international affairs; professor of media theory and cultural and media history).

The H. A. Bockmeyer Travel Grant financially supports travel projects of students and alumni in the Fine Arts, Integrated Design and Digital Media programmes of HfK Bremen. Students and Alumnae not older than 40 years and with adequate transcripts of study records are eligible. The total amount of the travel grant is 3.000€
