Last Minute Design Talk & Workshop – Charlotte Rohde & Vera van de Seyp
Workshop and Talk / 06 - 09.06.2023
Workshop 6-9 June 2023
Typeface is a Runner
Vera van de Seyp & Charlotte Rohde
Secondary tide, R 1 07.040, Am Speicher XI 8
Start: 6 June 2023, 10:00 a.m.
In our four-day workshop we will mentor participants in writing - it functions more as an open concept than a choreography. Everyone# can bring works in progress, sketches, ideas and we are contacts for type design questions at any level. For those who have no previous experience, there will be a Glyphs introduction and also prompts to start the first typeface (12-15 places).
(Sorry: registration is closed, but there will be an additional lecture!)

Vera van de Seyp (NL, *1993, she/her) is a designer and creative coder interested in typography, languages, and artificial intelligence. She is currently part of the Future Sketches group at MIT Media Lab. Currently based in Boston (US) but often back in Amsterdam (NL), she has an artistic practice, sometimes giving workshops, talks, or working on autonomous projects. In her work, she explores new technologies, digital tools and fields in media where boundaries are still blurry and yet to be defined.
Charlotte Rohde (DE, *1992, she/her) Charlotte Rohde is an artist, (type) designer, and writer based in Amsterdam, NL, and Berlin, DE. Her personal way of handling ideas of hyperfemininity, the economy of trust and pop culture is bracing her horizontally expanding practice of both very applied and also quite fine arts. She is currently the Guest Professor for Typography and Type Design at Bauhaus Universität Weimar.
