Open Seminar with Christian Rosales, Mona Schieren und César Giraldo-Herrera

Open Seminar - Eyes Wide Shut in the Garden

Open seminar / 12.06.2023

Seminar by Christian Rosales (composer, HfK) and Mona Schieren (art historian, HfK) together with César Giraldo-Herrera (anthropologist, ZMT) and students.
South American Amerindian approaches to knowledge question our understanding of individuality and propose collective modes of subjectivity - in indigenous activism, as in the arts. We explore this with Brazilian philosopher Ailton Krenak and the Brazilian pavilion he conceived at the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale. In the seminar, we also experiment with somatic practices of deep listening. We re-read, reclaim and further transform mythologies appropriated in contemporary literature, such as "The Circular Ruins" by Jorge Luis Borges.

12.06.2023, 10.30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
