Die Ausstellung ist das Ergebnis einer Reise von Ricarda Fallenbacher in den Libanon im Rahmen des Bockmeyer-Reisestipendiums.

Mit dem von Architekt Heinz Arnold Bockmeyer begründeten Reisestipendium ermöglicht die H.-A.-Bockmeyer-Stiftung alljährlich eine Reise zur Realisierung eines künstlerischen Projekts an der HfK Bremen. Studierende und Ehemalige aus den Studiengängen Freie Kunst, Integriertes Design und Digitale Medien können sich mit einem Konzept bewerben. Die Höhe des Reisestipendiums beträgt 3.000 Euro.

Ricarda Fallenbacher – I care for you

The background of this exhibition is a collaboration between Hiba and Ricarda. For over three years they have developed a close relationship between work and friendship. As a wheelchair user Hiba runs a team of personal assistants to be her arms and legs during her daily life. As part of her social work studies, Hiba spends extended periods of time in Lebanon, her second home country. The last summer the two spent six weeks there together with another assistant. Ricarda additionally took the role of the artist by filming their adventure: The assistant, the friend and the artist.

The project is on hold for now since Ricarda decided to concentrate on being assistant and friend only. Instead of showing the footage she filmed in Lebanon, she decided to offer a space to pause and enjoy Lebanese food. Cooked by the most talented Lebanese chef Bilal, Hiba’s husband and another protagonist in this whole complex story. Please feel warmly invited!
