Shape Shifting – Sightings at Circa 106
Online-Präsentation / 26.03.2021
Shape Shifting – Sightings is a conversation about events that took place unannounced, out of most people’s sights. Lucas Odahara with Antonio Hofmeister Ribeiro, Rahel Jüngling, Rogerio Nishizawa, Hanna Stijnen, Karina Burjakov and Ziyi Li moved over the past months from the HfK and the screen towards the Bürgerpark in Bremen after sunset. In this space of uncertainty they addressed ideas of visibility, corporeality and the mutable shape of things under the current social and work restrictions.
These night encounters with work in the public space, called sightings, also took place at Circa 106 in February, in the coldest week of the past years in Germany. In this conversation published on Circa’s website, they describe what they saw, look at images and make each other believe and wonder what are the shape of things under the current crisis. These meetings were part of the course Shape Shifting - how to become phantasmic, led by Lucas Odahara at the HfK in the winter semester 2020/21.
The conversation and the visual material will be released on Circa 106’s website on Friday (March 26th) after sunset.
