HfK Jazzclub: Stripes called Zebra
Stripes Called Zebra is a modern jazz band from Bremen. The four musicians touch on a wide variety of genres and draw their musical inspiration from hip-hop and fusion. Their diverse compositions immerse the audience in a wide variety of places and moods. They tell tales of sprawling club visits, pulsating streams of thought and moments of being torn apart. They celebrated their debut at the Lila Eule at the end of last year. Look forward to flashy drum beats, concise guitar sounds, driving basslines and warm Rhodes. The Zebras are also looking forward to playing the session opener on 30 April with special guest Julia Victoria.
Finja Baum - Guitar
Marlene Gabel - Keys
Leira Laubach - electric bass
Sarah Mysegaes - drums
Important information
The "hfk jazzclub" is the venue for contemporary jazz in Bremen. Concerts and sessions with musicians from the university and local and national musicians take place every Tuesday of the semester at 9 pm in the basement vault of the University of Music. Passionate jamming takes place here, or student tryout programmes are presented. Semester projects by the Rehearsal Band and themed concert programmes are also on offer.
