Transverse Flute (Jazz)

The transverse flute is becoming increasingly popular in jazz and has developed into an important part of the genre in recent years. At the HfK Bremen, students have the opportunity to improve their skills on the jazz flute and develop into competent soloists or band members. They learn to lead a band professionally, to improvise and to design and carry out projects in cooperation with other musicians. A particular focus is on practice-oriented learning and networking with the international jazz scene. Regular encounters with renowned musicians such as Bob Mintzer, Wayne Escoffery, Dave Kikoski, Essiet Essiet, Remy Vingolo and Richie Goods evidence the international orientation of the Jazz course at the HfK Bremen. Not least in our own jazz club, students have many opportunities to participate in concerts, jam sessions and studio productions.
