Baroque Oboe is a subject at the courses in Early Music at the HfK Bremen dedicated to the playing and performance practice of historical oboe instruments from the 17th to the 19th century. We work on the respective repertoire using Baroque, Classical and Romantic instruments, with a particular focus on solo literature as well as the orchestral repertoire, not only in individual lessons, but also in regular ensemble projects inside and outside the university.

In the consort lessons, repertoire from Baroque era up to Classical harmony music is performed in various configurations in cooperation with other wind music classes. The subject of pipe construction not only introduces the construction of pipes for historical double-reed instruments, but also the construction of pins and sleeves for these instruments and fundamentally explains how they work. Baroque and Classical oboes are available as rental instruments.
