To study in Germany, foreign students may need a visa that allows them to stay in Bremen during their studies.

You can find out which documents you need to submit to apply for a student visa or a student applicant visa on the website of the Foreign Office or on the websites of the German diplomatic mission in your home country. As a rule, you will need your passport, passport photos, proof of health insurance and documents showing that you are admitted to study at the HfK and can finance your study stay in Bremen.

If you want to apply for a guest study programme, your first point of contact is the International Office of the HfK. Applications are possible for both the winter semester and the summer semester. A study visit usually lasts one to a maximum of two semesters. This applies to visiting students from partner universities and, if capacity is available, also to individual applicants (freemovers).

As a visiting student you do not have to take an entrance exam.

Students from other universities can only be admitted to individual courses as additional students for the duration of one semester if there is free capacity.

Applicants who are not students can be admitted as guest auditors if there is space available, but only for the duration of one semester and only for specific courses.
