Intensive course in music theory and ear training

The University of the Arts Bremen offers all applicants a 2-day intensive course in “music theory and ear training” to prepare for the entrance exam at German music universities (for first semester in the winter semester).The course takes place in person and digitally.

12 April 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

• Music theory / General music theory:
  Tone designation, intervals, triads and their inversions, tetrachords and their inversions, scales and scales and scales, keys, chord resolutions, function and step designations
• Aural eduction:
  Basics of aural analysis, intervals, triads and their inversions, tetrachords and their inversions, melody and their inversions, melodic dictation, two-part dictation, exercises for independent independent ear training

Payment of the participation fee is made by invoice.

Registration for the course is binding; the invoice serves as confirmation of participation.
If you cancel up to one week before the start of the course, the participation fee will be refunded if you provide a plausible reason.
If you cancel later than this, a refund will not be possible.
