The Art Prize of the Silberner Schlüssel Foundation is being awarded for the 34th time. The Art Prize is aimed at graduates, Master’s students, and postgraduate masterclass participants of the Faculty of Art and Design at the University of the Arts Bremen. The award honors artistic works that engage with socially relevant, societal, or humanitarian issues. It is endowed with €5,000.
The 2026 Art Prize will be awarded to Boeun Kim for her project “Mourning Heat.” She will present a performance during the ceremony.
The laudatory speech will be delivered by Kai Stührenberg, State Secretary for Ports of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.
The following artists will also receive special commendations: Yuliya Tsviatkova, Jana Kristin Thiel, Leon Butt, and Jannes Schmidt.
Their works will be honored by the jury during the ceremony. Words of welcome will be delivered by representatives of the University of the Arts Bremen and the Silberner Schlüssel Foundation. The evening will include a musical performance by students of the Faculty of Music at the University of the Arts Bremen.
Following the award ceremony, the Foundation invites everyone to a reception with drinks and conversation.
