A L IVE / A LIFE
Opening hours
Vernissage: 29.10.26, 6:00 p.m. + Radio Angrezi
What do machines do when we sleep? To what extent do autonomous systems encroach upon our private lives? And how can we make the constant activity of these systems tangible, through visualization, physical translation, sonification, hacking, or reinterpretation?
The exhibition "A LIVE / A LIFE" explores the autonomy and (apparent) aliveness of machines and algorithms. Through material investigations, kinetic objects, and experiments with machines, the exhibition examines the field of Artificial Life (ALife). Bachelor’s and Master’s students from the Digital Media program ask at what point an object, machine, or algorithm appears to be alive, inviting visitors to rethink the boundary between the mechanical and the living.
Starting at 6:00 p.m., Radio Angrezi accompanies the evening of the vernissage with drinks and a special BARADIO broadcast on 92,5FM.
