In a sonic event, the concept of ‘crossing’ can signify the transition and intertwining of different fields of resonance. A zone of speculative interference; a bridge upon which the flow of the hyperconnected coexists, whilst beneath it lies a refuge and isolation for the disconnected a phenomenon that, in a transversal and political sense, often evokes resistance and transformation.
From this perspective the rs.m radio project emerges as a means of amplifying these fields of resonance in areas where interference allows us to explore sound practices, channels of dialogue, and collective, autonomous movements of artistic expression. An immaterial canal that serves to question and expand, through sound, various forms of interference
that suggest new ways of connecting with one another.
I therefore invite you to take part in this small radio festival, “Crossings’ at our beloved Café Lu and Chaos Office from 22 May to 5 June, where rs.m radio will set up base as a living laboratory of shared resonance through sound mapping, global music, global food, listening sessions,
sound performances, DJ sessions, vinyl from around the world, readings, storytelling and discussions with guest artists and collectives centred on radio.
The broadcasts will be available on the website: rsmradio.de
Event recordings will be released during and after the festival: mixcloud.com/rsmradio
All are welcome to take part and share their ideas, so if you have something to show, say or share, Café Lú will have record players, cassette players and microphones. On Friday 29 May and Friday 5 June, Chaos Office will be launched with DJ sets and a wonderful closing event to mark the end of the festival.
Come by on Friday, have a drink and let's celebrate that summer finally arrives in Bremen!
