Data Atlas Bahnhofsvorstadt

Former location of Sparkasse Bremen

The Data Atlas Bahnhofsvorstadt focuses on a district of Bremen that, for many, is primarily a place people pass through – and sheds light on the social, political and economic structures underlying the local conflicts, vacant properties and processes of change.

Over the past few months, the Data Atlas Bahnhofsvorstadt team – comprising Johanna Rose-Jastram, Paul Stümpel (HfK Bremen), Philipp Buhlmann and Kristina Schmidt have been conducting research, carrying out interviews, analysing data and creating visualisations. The exhibition brings this research together and reveals connections that often remain hidden in everyday life. Among other things, it addresses issues such as vacant properties and urban development, addiction and support services, social displacement, failed planning initiatives and the question of who benefits from the existing structures.
