Alexander Rosenkranz is a visual artist and photographer. He works at the intersection of architecture, public space, and perception. His projects often begin with a photo-documentary approach, which is then expanded or deliberately abandoned as the project progresses.

His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Images Vevey Biennale (Switzerland), the SK Stiftung Kultur (Cologne), and the Haus am Kleistpark (Berlin).

Awards include the Deutsche Bank Studio Grant (2023), the Grand Prix Images Vevey Nestlé Grant (2022), and an honorable mention at the Snider Prize of the MoCP Chicago (2021). Rosenkranz's works are in public collections in Berlin, Chicago, Magdeburg, and elsewhere.

He lives and works in Berlin and Oslo.

The LAB TALKS lecture series places the workshop and studio at the center of the artist talk as a central place of artistic production and craftsmanship. In the series, invited artists talk about their know-how and working methods in relation to their concept and their work. LAB TALKS is a format of the Werkstatt für Fotografie (Anja Engelke & Wenzel Stählin) and Prof. Andrea Diefenbach.
