Opening hours
Mermaids is an improvised performance at the intersection of sound, movement and connection. Four artists - Nae Matakas (voice, piano, electronics), Juana Casas Ferrús (voice), Lola Suraya Atkinson (jazz harp, voice) and Marlene Ensslen (dance) - together create a fluid-associative landscape of sound and movement.
Inspired by the element of water and carried by influences from jazz, classical music, early music and free improvisation, they create siren songs, harp waves and physical resonances that invite the audience to listen, feel and flow along - a space of creative, silent intensity.
Participating artists: Marlene Ensslen, Nae Matakas, Lola Suraya Atkinson, Juana Casas Ferrús
Important information
The University of the Arts Bremen will once again be part of the Breminale in 2025 - with an independent four-day program on the MS Dauerwelle! More than 20 acts from all areas of the university will create a festival format with a thematic focus on each day. The artists present their work in different stage and space concepts - between discourse, performance, concert and club.
Many thanks to all the artists at the University of the Arts for making this year's Dauerwellenbühne program so diverse and exciting!
Thanks for the support to Jonte von Döllen, Lorraine Liedert and the department, as well as Ulas Aydin and Imke Bahr!
