Open Space Domshof – OSD After Work: Deriva
OSD After Work is perfect for anyone who fancies a bite to eat and a drink on Thursdays after work, accompanied by live music and good company. Round off your day against the beautiful backdrop of the cathedral! The concerts on the Open Space stage – jazz, classical, singer-songwriters – start at 5.30 pm.
This Thursday: Deriva
Deriva – Spanish for ‘drift’ – is the band led by the two singers Juana Casas and Aina Zanoguera, alongside Sarah Mysegaes on drums, André Kluth on bass and Tobias Bruns on guitar. “Deriva” stands for movement without haste, for letting yourself drift in the groove and wandering through moods. This is precisely what is reflected in their songs – original compositions with Spanish lyrics and driving grooves that blend pop and jazz – including “Se acabó”, “Bolsa y Punto” and “Nothing Hurts More”.
The band blends diverse influences into a sound all their own: vocal harmonies, danceable grooves, modern soundscapes and emotional lyrics meet improvisation and a love of experimentation. Between jazz, pop and folk melodies, music emerges that evolves, flows and constantly takes new directions. The five members met during sessions on the jazz scenes of Hamburg and Bremen. Deriva emerged from their joint improvisations – as a band that brings together sound, movement and emotion.
