Open Space Domshof – The 415s
The ensemble ‘The 415s’ consists of young female musicians from Brazil, Russia and Hong Kong. They came together at the University of the Arts Bremen with the aim of broadening the repertoire for period instruments. The ensemble is united not only by a love of High Baroque music, but also of folk Baroque music and even modern music. They perform their concerts with vocals and Baroque instruments – harpsichord, transverse flute, viola da gamba.
The 415s are currently focusing on researching and promoting European folk music from the period before or during the Baroque era – such as the music of the Celtic islands, including Ireland and Scotland. This music is far less well-known, yet undoubtedly a treasure!
