Open Space Domshof – TOYO Streichquartett

A classic string quartet – yet completely different: the TOYO Quartet gives Japanese pop and anime music a new sound. With a traditional quartet line-up, it plays well-known melodies from Ghibli films, anime series and Japanese pop – pieces that are also familiar in Germany.

Whether ‘Totoro’, “Evangelion”, ‘Sailor Moon’ or songs by Japanese bands – the focus is on music that has achieved cult status in Japan and has long since found fans in Germany. A programme between classical music and pop culture, richly detailed and surprisingly intimate.
