What does loneliness sound like at midday? And how does that same loneliness feel at twenty past one in the morning? The Bremen trio zwanzig nach eins asks these questions – and answers them with music and language.
In a mixture of jazz, classical music, poetry and improvisation, the three musicians weave their own and other people's texts with vibrant soundscapes, spoken word, cello and vibraphone. The pieces flow into one another, thoughts shift, moods change.
It's about closeness and strangeness, vulnerability, the struggle for words – but also about connection. A concert that doesn't focus on individual songs, but on the moment in between.
