Biography

Ahmad Saleh (Arabic: أحمد صالح, DMG Aḥmad Ṣāliḥ; born 1980 in Khobar) is a Palestinian author/film director and art director who lives in Singapore and Jordan.

He says of his work, "I love things that reveal the patience behind their creation."

He lived in Palestine from 1998 to 2003 before moving to Germany to study digital media at the University of the Arts Bremen (HFK). He began writing short stories before discovering his passion for filmmaking.

His 2012 short film debut House was nominated for the German Short Film Award. After completing his master's degree in Bremen and working as an art director for two years, he began his postgraduate studies at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne in the winter semester of 2013/14, specializing in animation. For his graduation film at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, the short film Ayny, Saleh was awarded the Student Academy Award for Best Foreign Animated Short Film in 2016. His short film Night celebrated its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in August 2021.

He is currently a professor of animated film in Singapore and works in his film and design studio in Jordan.
