Sustainable Merchandising: From Field to Fan Shop

University of the Arts Bremen | Nebenflut (1.07.040)
Vergangene Veranstaltung

As part of this year’s Fashion Revolution Week, Lukas Godula (Werder Bremen Merchandising GmbH) will present key aspects of the “From Field to Fan Shop” project using a practical example: from the initial idea through the supply chain to the finished product on a hanger in the fan shop.

The “From Field to Fan Shop” initiative, launched by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in collaboration with the textile company Brands Fashion, brings together not only the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) but also SV Werder Bremen and seven other clubs in the German Bundesliga, all of whom are jointly committed to sustainability in the area of fan merchandise.

“Who made my merch?” – The talk explains how the project is making an impact on several levels: it supports small farmers in switching to organic farming, promotes climate resilience and the path to net zero, improves local livelihoods – and, through safe sports facilities and fairtrade educational work, also reaches children and young people, with the aim of embedding the initiative in local structures for the long term.
