Flocks of birds in the sky, schools of fish in the water, dancing crowds in front of the stage: when many become one, a special kind of beauty and energy emerges. The performance “Schwärmen” is dedicated to precisely this phenomenon – artistically, poetically and on multiple levels. The performance ensemble of Blauschimmel Atelier e.V. sets out in search of the poetry of the collective and explores the various meanings of “swarming”. Through dance, music and a few words, dazzling, mysterious stage worlds emerge that invite the audience to dream.
Inspired by observations of nature, pop culture and literary longing, the performance poses a central question: Where is our place in the cosmic dance?
Under the direction of Annika Lisa Richter and Tim Pförtner, the ensemble, together with musicians from Oldenburg and EMP students from the University of the Arts Bremen, develops an atmospherically dense production that blends movement and sound.
The project is funded by Klangpol – Netzwerk Neue Musik, Oldenburgische Landschaft, and the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture.
