About the exhibition

In 2025, the Art Department Library at the HfK Bremen will once again be presenting ‘the most beautiful German books’, honoured by the Stiftung Buchkunst.

In the competition, two expert juries select five works each year in a multi-stage process from the categories ‘General Literature’, ‘Scientific Books’, ‘Specialist Books, School and Textbooks’, ‘Guidebooks, Non-Fiction’, ‘Art Books, Photo Books, Exhibition Catalogues’ and ‘Children's Books, Books for Young People’. They are ‘exemplary in design, concept and workmanship and demonstrate a wide range of design and production possibilities’. The award-winning titles are also nominated for the ‘Stiftung Buchkunst Prize’, which is endowed with 10,000 euros.

The nominated books will be on display in a small exhibition.

Visitors are encouraged to check the website of the State and University Library, Art Faculty for current library information and opening hours.
