Motion Fonts

Join us for our LunchTalk series at C.A.T.E. – bring your lunch and your interest in design! We look forward to some exciting encounters, this time with Swiss type designer Simon Truffer:

Hi, my name is Simon Truffer. In my work, I look for new perspectives and possibilities to create and use typography, mostly through the combination of type design and programming. My longstanding interest in Motion Fonts led to my bachelor's thesis, which I further developed into the Motion Fonts Manifesto. Motion Fonts (a term shaped through conversations with type designers working in this field) is a classification of fonts conceived to be experienced in motion, while the conceptual blueprint for movement is already embedded within the font file. Or you can also say; most of the time, I’m looking for ways to solve a problem I didn’t know existed before.

Organised by Tania Prill and Katharina Nejdl, at C.A.T.E. (Speicher XI / Segment 4 / Ground Floor). Initiated by Tania Prill and Andrea Rauschenbusch.
