THE CLOSING PARTY is an interdisciplinary project that combines an immersive light show with projections and music. At its heart is the presentation of a one-hour, self-arranged work performed by a mixed nine-piece ensemble with roots in classical and jazz music. The work is brought to life by collaboratively developed projections and a light show that interact live with the music. The music itself is a cross-section of various eras of the 20th century. The arrangement places pieces ranging from jazz standards of the 1930s to modern fusion/electro music within the context of a contemporary danceable sound. A parallel is drawn through time, demonstrating that despite constantly changing musical aesthetics, the concept of movement and dance remains firmly anchored within them. The concert is framed by electronic DJ sets.

Admission is free.
