In addition to very good and constructive talks on the further development of the university, the Senator's team visited the HfK Bremen locations in Überseestadt. The senator was impressed by the special orientation of the HfK: "The University of the Arts is a versatile, artistic and cosmopolitan university. There are only two other universities in Germany that, like the HfK, combine the offerings of an art and music university under one roof. This potential for interdisciplinary cooperation between the various disciplines is already being used by the HfK in a variety of ways and offers the HfK excellent opportunities for raising its profile. I am very pleased that this extraordinary university is part of Bremen's academic landscape and has a lasting influence on the city with its cultural activities - also on an international level - and is a flagship for Bremen."
The President and Chancellor of the HfK Bremen found the inaugural visit to be a very good and constructive start to further cooperation.
"We are connected with Senator Kathrin Moosdorf and State Councillor Irene Strebl in the knowledge of the importance of art, design, media, music and science for society and for Bremen. Our common goal is to promote and strengthen these areas," said Prof. Dr. Mirjam Boggasch, President of the University. The Chancellor of the HfK Bremen, Dr. Antje Stephan, added: "A good and trusting cooperation in these financially and politically tense times is of utmost importance to us. We are certain that in the Senator for Science and the State Councillor we have partners who will actively support the HfK Bremen and constructively accompany it in its further development".
