Resounding collaboration with Bremen Music Festival
Summer opening in Dechanatstraße, enthusiasm in Osterholz-Schermbeck
This year, the University of the Arts Bremen is once again a cooperation partner of the Bremen Music Festival and has already contributed to several highlights. At the opening ceremony, which stretched across several venues around the market square, the University of the Arts hosted an event in the courtyard of Dechanatstraße. The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio performed there, featuring influences from jazz, soul, funk, and R&B.
According to the Weser-Kurier, HfK Professor Krzysztof Urbaniak (Historical Organ) and Veronika Skuplik (HfK Lecturer in Baroque Violin) elicited “storms of applause” at their joint concert with the Arp-Schnitger-Ensemble devoted to “Bach – Handel – Vivaldi” at St. Willehadi Church in Osterholz-Scharmbeck:
„Chamber music featuring the organ is something of a rarity within the musical repertoire, partly because this combination is considered very challenging for both the composer and the performers. […] As at the 2022 Bremen Music Festival, organist Krzysztof Urbaniak not only demonstrated his mastery of the venerable Erasmus Bielfeldt organ, but also played with the strings, oboes and bassoon as if they were one." (Weser-Kurier)
As a contributor to the Bremen Music Festival, the Arp Schnitger Festival honours the important European organ builder of the Baroque period and his magnificent and beautifully sounding organs around Bremen. The Music Festival runs until September 6th.
