Emmanuel Frankenberg

Emmanuel Frankenberg (Amsterdam, Netherlands) is both a harpsichordist and a natural horn player. Growing up in a family of Baroque musicians, he began playing early music at a young age. He studied both instruments as majors at the conservatories of The Hague and Amsterdam, graduating with honors in both programs in 2018.

Emmanuel works as a freelance musician and performs both as a soloist and as an ensemble musician. He is a permanent member of the ensembles Collegium 1704, Les Musiciens du Prince, Concerto Copenhagen, Capriccio Stravagante, and Ensemble Zefiro. He also plays regularly with ensembles such as the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the Orchestra of the 18th Century, Ensemble Masques, the Nederlandse Bachvereniging, the Freiburger Barockorchester, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and others.

In addition to his concert activities, Emmanuel regularly conducts ensembles and participates in recording projects, and has released several solo CDs on labels such as Alpha and others. He has been awarded several prizes, most recently the Rabo–B. de Bruin Prize and the O-68 Prize.
