Press Preview: First Museum Exhibition for the Frese Design Prize

Dear Sir or Madam,
Dear Editors,
In 2026, the Frese Design Prize will have its own museum exhibition for the first time. Under the title “ID Select – The Exhibition for the Frese Design Award 2026,” 16 final projects from the Integrated Design Department at the University of the Arts (HfK) Bremen, selected by a jury, will be presented at the Wilhelm Wagenfeld Haus—from April 24, 2026, through May 31, 2026. The Petra and Dieter Frese Foundation has increased the prize money to 12,000 euros. The Young Talent Award is one of the most highly endowed university prizes in Germany.

         ID Select – The Exhibition for the Frese Design Award 2026
         Dates: April 24–May 31, 2026
         A collaboration between the HfK Bremen and the Wilhelm Wagenfeld Haus
          Press event: Wednesday, April 22, 2026, 11 a.m.
          Location: Wilhelm Wagenfeld Haus, Am Wall 209, 28195 Bremen
          Opening remarks: Dr. Julia Bulk, Director of the Wilhelm Wagenfeld Haus
         Lorraine Liedert, Project Manager of “ID Select” at HfK Bremen, will guide visitors through the exhibition  
         Three nominated designers/artists will be present to discuss their work:      
         Hannah Malina Lowitz, Kjell Reimers, and Jannes Schmidt

The nominees for the 2026 Frese Design Prize are: Frederik Adelmann, Maja Bäumker, Luci Lee Biehler, Paula Britt, Leon Butt, Leontien Kay, Sarah Paulina Keilbach, Yang Liu, Hannah Malina Lowitz, Isabel Moraes Duzat, Claudia Sofia Pesantes Cardoso, Lena Porath, Kjell Reimers, Dana Salih, Jannes Schmidt, and Söhnke Vetter.

The winner will be announced on May 5, 2026, during the public award ceremony at the Wilhelm Wagenfeld Haus.
The project is sponsored by the Petra and Dieter Frese Foundation.
