HfK Jazzclub: Joe Dinkelbach Organ Trio
Joe Dinkelbach Organ Trio, special guest Britta Dinkelbach, vocal
The trio of organist Joe Dinkelbach, lecturer at the University of Oldenburg, with Dirk Piezunka, saxophone and Ralf Jackowski, drums, plays groovy classics of the Hammond organ repertoire as well as original compositions. In this formation, Joe's left hand takes on the role of bass player while the right hand solos and lays the harmonic foundation. Together with the saxophone playing of Dirk Piezunka, initiator of the jazz series on the Theaterschiff Bremen, and the always soulful drum accompaniment of Ralf Jackowski, the result is a unique, special overall sound. The trio will be presenting their LP "Moments", produced entirely in analogue, which has received excellent reviews in Hifi Welt. As a special guest, Britta Dinkelbach will sing some titles from the American Songbook and classic film music.
Important information
The "hfk jazzclub" is the venue for contemporary jazz in Bremen. Concerts and sessions with musicians from the university and local and national musicians take place every Tuesday of the semester at 9 pm in the basement vault of the University of Music. Passionate jamming takes place here, or student tryout programmes are presented. Semester projects by the Rehearsal Band and themed concert programmes are also on offer. In short: a think tank for jazz and a meeting place for Bremen's jazz scene.
