When Brazilian pop music meets a vibrant choral tradition, the result is moments brimming with rhythm, emotion and musical diversity: Cajuzinho, a trio of Brazilian musicians with roots in early music, brings the full musical spectrum of Brazil to the stage through guitar, vocals and the viola da gamba – from samba and forró to choro and Música Popular Brasileira.

Together with the Bremen choir ‘Cor em Canto’, a moving interplay of voices, sounds and stories unfolds. Since 2008, Cor em Canto has been dedicated to making Brazilian music audible and tangible in Germany. Under the musical direction of Nae Matakas, Cor em Canto consists of 15 singers – accompanied by experienced musicians from Bremen. The repertoire ranges from bossa nova to Brazilian folklore and captivates audiences with a blend of passion, rhythmic precision and a palpable joy in making music together.

Cajuzinho line-up:

  • Nae Matakas – vocals
  • Águeda Macias – vocals and viola da gamba
  • Vinicius Nogueira – guitar

As part of the “HfK meets La Strada” series, three concerts will take place on Friday evening on the Open Space stage:
