We mourn the loss of Christian Meyer

We are saddened by the early death of our long-standing and valued colleague

Christian „Krischan“ Meyer
* 13. Mai 1962 † 18. Juli 2025

Christian Meyer graduated with a Diploma in Fine Arts from the University of the Arts Bremen in 1999. In 2007, he returned to the HfK, and since then he has been firmly anchored in our university community. 

A jack of all trades in art and music with an equally strong love of literature and irony, he was always there to help and advise many generations of students and colleagues at the Equipment Loan Services. We are very grateful to him for that.

Christian Meyer's artistic work included poetry, comics, compositions and films, and he was also very involved in the local art and film scene. His cinematic work won numerous awards and found its way into the programming of 3Sat, arte and NDR.

With his direct and always attentive manner, Christian Meyer managed to strike the right balance between strictness and generosity – while always remaining true to himself. This made him a reliable and valued contact for many people.

At Speicher XI, our working day often began with a friendly, cheeky greeting from Christian „Krischan“ Meyer, who liked to spend his breaks with a cup of coffee and a cigarette outside on the steps at the entrance to the university. We will miss him dearly.
