The block seminar “Walk in My Shoes” explores the relationship between sensory perception, mobility, and spatial experience in the context of physical diversity and inclusive design. Using interdisciplinary approaches from art, design, and anatomy studies, the course examines how altered sensory perception and mobility influence our understanding of space. The seminar critically examines inclusive spatial development as an artistic and everyday concern. Does making spaces accessible also expand how we experience them? Inclusion is not just about certain bodies—it is an opportunity for everyone to broaden their sensory awareness and understanding of space. Practical sessions are planned at the ZFK Bremen rehearsal room, with possible collaborations with Martinsclub Bremen e.V. and the Bremen Disabled Sports Association. Participants will rethink spatial design and inclusive experiences through embodied practice, addressing key themes such as mobility, accessibility, and sensory perception. This seminar offers a unique space for academic research, hands-on exploration, and critical dialogue on how bodily experience shapes spatial design.
