Department 1 – Student and Academic Affairs

As an office for students, Department 1 is the central contact point for all questions relating to applications, studies and examinations. It is responsible for coordinating the processes relating to applications, admissions and registrations, the allocation of study places, enrolment, re-registration, de-registration, leave of absence and changing subjects and majors. You are also obliged to register changes in name here. 


The Department also provides the following services: 

  • general student advisory,
  • support in examination matters for diploma and master students at the Faculties of Music and of Fine Arts,
  • final Examination Procedure for Digital Media,
  • final Examination Procedures for the Faculties of Music,
  • BAföG certificates,
  • guest and part-time students,
  • preparation of certificates and proofs,
  • preparation of the final documents,
  • statistical surveys, registration figures and capacity calculations as well
  • as the amendment of the regulations pertaining to studies and examinations.
