On Tuesday, November 4 at 5 p.m., the House of Science will open the exhibition “Research yesterday, today, tomorrow – Insights into science in the state of Bremen.”
The state of Bremen is characterized by a wide range of scientific institutions. Bremen and Bremerhaven gained nationwide recognition for this when they were named the very first “City of Science” by the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (Donors' Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany) in 2005. Since then, the House of Science has served as a hub for exchange between science and the general public, schools, the arts, and business.
To mark the 20th anniversary of City of Science and House of Science, the sponsors of the House are presenting examples of their research in this exhibition. Visitors gain insights into the work being done at Bremen's institutes – from marine and social sciences to robotics and aviation to research for medical applications. In addition, a photo exhibition shows impressions from the research of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
The Bremen University of the Arts is also participating in the exhibition as one of the supporting institutions of the House of Science.
An exhibition by the House of Science and its supporting institutions, supported by WFB – Bremen Economic Development Agency.
The exhibition can be seen at the House of Science until February 21, 2026.
Welcoming remarks:
- Prof. Dr. Gerold Wefer (Chairman of the Board, House of Science e. V.)
 - Kay Wenzel (Head of the Department of Higher Education and Research, Senator for the Environment, Climate, and Science)
