Let life flow – Guitar Duo KM

Instituto Cervantes Bremen

The Instituto Cervantes, in collaboration with the University of the Arts Bremen (HfK), is launching a concert series for classical Spanish guitar, in which the participants will showcase their skills through performances of the most significant works from the Spanish and Latin American repertoire, amongst others. In addition to the concert, our guests will also offer a masterclass open to the public.

The German-Chilean duo KM, consisting of Katrin Klingeberg and Sebastián Montes, will open this series with a concert featuring works by Joaquín Rodrigo, Alberto Ginastera and Víctor Jara, amongst others.

In 2004, Katrin Klingeberg and Sebastián Montes made their debut as a guitar duo with Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto Madrigal. Since then, they have completed a Master’s degree and a concert examination in chamber music at the HMDK Stuttgart under the renowned Kaltchev Guitar Duo, won numerous international prizes and performed concerts around the world. Katrin Klingeberg is a lecturer at the HMDK Stuttgart, whilst Sebastián Montes is a professor at the HfM Saar and a lecturer at the HfM Nuremberg. Together they direct the Nürtingen International Guitar Festival and are among the most sought-after duos on the international guitar scene.

The masterclass will take place at the HfK (Dechanatstr. 13-15) on 30 May 2026 from 2 pm to 4 pm and on 31 May from 9 am to 12 noon. Participation in the masterclasses is free of charge and open to guitar students. Places are limited; please register by 23 May at fhinsche@hfk-bremen.de.
