Opening: Spatial Audio Currents. Days for electroacoustic music and spatial sound. Thursday to Sunday, October 9 to 12, 2025
Spatial sound is one of the most important fields of research in contemporary music and sound art. Together with international partners such as the Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics in Graz and the Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology in Zurich, the University of the Arts Bremen is hosting a multi-day program that offers a wide range of insights into current developments in this field.
On Saturday, the German Society for Electroacoustic Music will host a symposium and present numerous new works as part of its annual concert—including a world premiere by Thomas Seelig Fixed Media Prize winner Manuella Blackburn.
Further unusual listening perspectives are offered by the projektgruppe neue musik bremen, which is organizing two late-night concerts with its Bremen Loudspeaker Orchestra BLO.
The new active acoustics in the concert hall will be presented at the start of the event. Teachers and students of early music will demonstrate how digitally generated reflections can create a wide variety of acoustic spaces – from a slight optimization of the existing room acoustics to a cathedral.
An event organized by Atelier Neue Musik and by We Dig It!
